Having always dabbled in guitars ........playing them, taking them apart & modifying them...... I became very interested when Line 6  came out with its Variax,  especially the challenge of transplanting the electronics into other guitars. 

 I did my first transplant with a 500 into a Custom body a few years ago which was relatively straight forward.  I followed this with a 500 into a Fender Squier Strat, this time adding a tremolo. Although this took a long time, with numerous problems to overcome, it was successful. The cheaper 300 then appeared on the scene, & I was soon transplanting this. It was alot easier to do than the 500 due to its modular design.
