Stagg Guitar
Unsuspecting instrument before assault (minus control knobs)

300 Motherboard/Cable removed from chassis
The key to the success of this project was to lengthen the ribbon cable. The trickiest part was finding cable to match the Line 6 stuff which is 1mm pitch! Once located, it was a question of carefully prising the old connectors apart, removing the old cable, & crimping the new one in place!

Back of guitar trial positioning

Here I am just laying the motherboard in position to see how much needs to be routed away!

Yikes!

Routing template

Marked out my positioning & created template.

Routed cavity!

Hmm....cudda been a bit smaller. Front face routed through to make way for control panel. Also access channel to trem cavity turns out to be in wrong place......oh well................

Motherboard placed on wooden stand-offs glued in place.

Wiring trem front
Front of trem unit with holes drilled for piezo wires & veroboard superglued in place.

Wiring trem back

I couldnt actually visualise how I was going to wire the trem until I routed the guitar & noticed I had enough room to mount the circuit in the back. It had to be trimmed, but it looks like the trem block was made for it!

Notice black earth wire soldered to copper conductive tape.

Everything in place
So this is how I positioned everything in the end!

Completed Instrument!
