Poor unsuspecting guitar about to get 'Trans-Axed'!
Coincidentally, the distance between Volume & Tone control knobs just happens to be identical to the Vax 300 Volume & Selector controls!
This guitar features a gorgeous flamed front & excellent finish with no bleeding around the binding. The frets are well mounted & jumbo sized, which i love! Ok, so out of the box they were a little rough, but I have dressed & polished them & the neck feels like a million dollars now! What hope is there for the West when you get stuff like this coming out Asia? |

Holes for controls drilled. These include the Vax tone control & selector switch slot as well as Volume & Tone controls for pickups. Later I added coil taps & switch to toggle between Vax & Pups.
This is a big jump from the previous pic, but I can assure everyone alot of planning went into the control layout......its just i was so fired up, I didnt stop to take any pics! |

Rear cavity routed to receive Vax 300 electrics.
This is kinda tricky cos the closer you get to the edge, the thinner the wood gets! |

Cavity sprayed with conductive paint. |

Most important part of build. In order to rear mount Vax electronics, ribbon cable needs extending! I wonder if this invalidates Line 6 warranty? |

Usual tremolo bridge preparation, front view! |

Rear view of modded trem.
Cut down Vax circuit board superglued to string block. Notice copper foil earthing. |

Electronics in place! Cant wait to fire her up! |

Close up of controls.
Switch next to model selector knob to toggle between Vax & pups.
Rear section contains analogue control.....3-way pup selector switch, coil taps, plus vol & tone controls. |
