Brand new RWG with Floyd Rose trem unit & thru-neck contruction.

Decided to replace the FR with a Stetsbar unit with Graphtech piezos. Here we have mapped out position.

Because of the fixed neck design, the Stetsbar needs to be recessed by 8mm to set the correct action. Here we have the template in place prior to routing.

Turning my attention to the back of the guitar. The tremcavity will be used to house the Vax electronics, in this case, a 500. Just planning the rear route here.

All the cavities have been joined up & a rebate cut for the back-plate.

A problem with the Vax socket plate & the body contour which dont match!

This was tricky to do, but the whole socket plate was recessed to overcome the contour problem.

Here we have fitted the Stetsbar into the prepared cavity. Adhesive sponge was used to seal the gap between the Stetsbar & FR cavity.

Here

Rear cavity sprayed with conductive paint. Protruding wires from Graphtech piezos. Each pickup has its own earth.

Pickups re-installed. Strings line up & action is good......phew!

Pickup wires & socket installed. That socket board takes up alot of valuable space!

Jumped ahead here....piezos soldered to Vax ribbon cable. This is supported by some copper clad fiber-board. Controls & motherboard fitted.

Everything in place on Vax side. Note chokes for ribbon cable. Motherboard on 6mm standoffs. Toggle switch fitted to Vax output.

Vax side of things done. Just waiting for stacked Vol/Tone control to connect pups!

Back-plate fitted. Area behind bridge does not have to be routed away with this technique preserving wood & tone!

Finished guitar. Note stacked Vol/Tone control for pups & coil taps for HB's.
